Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)

Database architecture

EnzyMine is built on Python web development framework, Django 1.6, with information stored in the PostgreSQL relational database. The front-end of the site is designed with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, and JavaScript. Two main types of search methods is allowed in EnzyMine including: EC number, uniport, prosite, pdb, enzyme name (searching from sequence to enzyme) and smiles, fragment, similarity, MCS(searching from molecular to enzyme). Those accurate search methods are completed by Haystack (http://haystacksearch.org/)- an open source and integrated full text search engine search framework of Django, and RDKit (http://www.rdkit.org/)- an open source chemical informatics and machine learning kit, providing C++ and python API interface.

Usage and using enzymine commercially

In this report, we mined 7767 EC numbers, and displayed these enzymes with comprehensive sequence and structural feature visually in 267345 proteins sequence across 8058 organisms, along with deep calculated chemical feature in 9831 reactions. EnzyMine construct an comprehensive enzyme repository on sequence and structure data along with reaction rules extraction, reaction center visualization work.
